Crimson Chronicles

Timeless Stories of the Coug Family in your own words!

About the Project

Every Coug has a story, and we want to allow you to share your unique connection to Washington State University. The Crimson Chronicles project will enable alums to tell their WSU story in their own words. After the collection is complete, these unique stories will be compiled into a book that celebrates our alma mater and the Coug Family.

This opportunity is possible thanks to a partnership between the WSU Alumni Association and Publishing Concepts, Inc., or PCI. In addition to collecting stories, PCI will assist the Alumni Association in collecting updated biographic information from alums to ensure we have current information available to stay connected with Cougs nationwide and beyond.

The Stories

Which crimson-themed story are you going to tell?

  • Campus Chronicles (Student Life)
  • Cougar Network (Network of Profound Impact)
  • Brainstorms at WSU (Academic Influences)
  • Cougar Love Tales (Love Stories)
  • Legends of WSU (History Makers)
  • Cougs & Connections (Family and Friends)
  • Heart of Crimson (Cougar Pride and Spirit)
  • Cougar Career Paths (Career Success)
  • Alumni Impact (Alumni World Changers)
  • Cougs Giving Back (Commitment to Community)
  • Moments to Remember (Moments in Time – Other)

Next Steps

Alums will receive a postcard and email from PCI with more information on sharing your stories. Stories will be collected via a phone call with a trained member of the PCI team. Once your story is submitted to the PCI team, watch for a follow-up email to edit your story.

If you did not receive a postcard or email, you may call the dedicated Washington State University Alumni Association update line at 1-800-476-9272.

What to Look For

PCI will begin sending postcards, letters, and emails to our alums at the end of March. Simply follow the steps in the communication piece to update your information and schedule a time to share your story with one of their staff members.

Frequently Asked Questions

I received an email/postcard/phone call from a company asking for my personal information and a story about Washington State University. Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?

It’s legit! We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce an Oral History Publication for the Washington State University Alumni Association. PCI is a family-owned business based in Dallas, TX, that has published directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities, and military organizations nationwide for almost 100 years. This project allows the Washington State University Alumni Association to hear about your personal experiences and explain how Washington State University has helped shape your lives.

Does the Washington State University Alumni Association benefit from this at all?

Yes, in a few different ways:

  • Updated Information–allows us to communicate with and engage alums effectively
  • Legacy–preserves the history of our school
  • Revenue-–generates revenue for our programs
  • Pride–wearing apparel shows support and love for our school, there will be merchandise packages available for purchase through the project
