Leadership Scholarship Award

Since 1980, the WSU Alumni Association has awarded more than $1,700,000 in WSUAA Leadership Scholarship awards to more than 1,000 deserving students.  Helping outstanding students receive a world-class education at WSU and providing educational opportunities for the next generation of leaders, benefits us all.  The majority of the awards are selected based on the WSU Alumni Association alumni districts across the state of Washington and are awarded to the incoming freshman who reside in each district.  WSU Alumni Association District Directors and other WSUAA volunteers are heavily involved in the interview and selection process.

Basis of Award

The primary focus of the awards is leadership.  Leadership may be demonstrated through traditional school activities, work responsibilities, community involvement, church-related activities, and family commitments.  The WSU Alumni Association seeks to recognize the accomplishments of youth leaders and endeavors to encourage and support future leaders with a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
