Currently, there are 12,604 (numbers last updated on December 1, 2007) Cougar plates in use in the state of Washington, which is more than all other university license plates combined. Considering there are more than 90,000 Cougars living in the state, the opportunity to dramatically increase the number of WSU plates on the road is tremendous. You can fax or mail in the completed application or simply take the application to a vehicle licensing office near you. The Cougar license plate program has generated approximately $330,000 to fund scholarships at Washington State University during the last year.
