The Artist Expression 2013 release is now available – but probably not for long. Like the previous six Artist Expression releases, it’s sure to sell out and soon. Artist Expression is an annual springtime collaboration featuring a Cougar-connected wine and artwork by a member of that year’s graduating class. The 2013 release features the 2009 Classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Maryhill Winery, the 2009 Washington Winery of the Year. We thank the owners of Maryhill Winery and Cougar alumni Craig and Vicki Leuthold. Adorning the bottle is artwork by Danica Wixom, a 2013 Humanities and Spanish major from Vancouver, Washington. Danica received a $500 scholarship from WBC and the WSUAA for her creative efforts. At just $28 per bottle, this limited-release wine will enhance any wine aficionado’s collection.
Maryhill describes the wine as featuring: "bold flavors of Pacific Northwest fruit and fresh honey notes, tart cherry, anise, fig and violets. On the palate, the full body carries a myriad of flavors including raspberry, vanilla, cherry, bittersweet chocolate, and white pepper, with a bright, exhilarating finish.”
