ARTIST EXPRESSION 2012

Contest is open to all 2012 graduates of WSU (spring, summer, and fall). Winner to receive a $500 scholarship for spring 2012 semester, WSUAA Life Membership,   5 Artist Expression 2012 posters, 6 bottles of Artist Expression 2012 wine, and more

WSU WINERY:  William Church Winery, Woodinville, WA

WINE:  2008 Sur La Mer – Bordeaux Style Blend.

TASTING NOTES:  We named our Bordeaux blend Sur La Mer which means “on the sea” after the seaport city of La Rochelle in western France where Leslie was born. This classic Bordeaux blend consists of 43% Merlot, 25% Cabernet, 17% Cabernet Franc, 12% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot. Flavors of black cherry, chocolate and smokey oak are plentiful in this elegant wine with supple textures and a silky finish that can be enjoyed with many dishes. Aged for 18 months in French oak and an additional 12 months in the bottle.  

THEME:  In keeping with Washington State University’s land grant institution roots and the viticulture industry

ART STYLE:   Any - pop, avant-garde, digital, oils, water color, pencil, etc. No sculptures or photography

LABEL SIZE:  Final art work should be close to scale of 2.75” Wide  X  3” High

SUBMIT:  Hi-res art file and original art

ART SUBMISSION DEADLINE:   January 9, 2012 or earlier to WSU Alumni Association, Lewis Alumni Centre, 123 Wilson Road, Pullman, WA   ATTN:  AE 2012 Art Contest

Please include a short artist bio (name, major, hometown, why this project interested you, inspiration for art submission)

ART SELECTION:  Pre-selected committee – WSUAA Chapter Presidents, Vintner, WSUAA Volunteers, WBC Member in January 2012.

Label design will be completed by WSU designers. Label design and layout must be approved by WSLCB and TTB. Wine will be labeled and shipped in April 2012.
