La Alianza de WSU

La Alianza's goal is to facilitate and inspire leadership opportunities among our alumni that contribute to the growth and development of the Chicano/a Latino/a student population at Washington State University. Our greatest commitment is to encourage the recruitment and retention of students of color in higher education, particularly Chicano/a Latino/a students at WSU.

Fostering lasting relationships with potential students and current students while building friendships and mentorship among our members will allow us to use our educational and professional experiences to impact future generations of Chicano/a Latino/a Cougars and create a positive outlook for students’ work and social future!

Our Mission

• Provide Chicano/Latino Alumni an opportunity for social, educational and professional development that will assist in keeping them abreast of current trends in their chosen professions.

• Facilitate and stimulate leadership among the Chicano/Latino Alumni that will contribute to the growth and development of Chicano/Latino students and the Chicano/Latino community.

• Support and assist Chicano/Latino students currently enrolled at Washington State University. Actively support recruitment efforts aimed to promote higher education.

• Reflect and foster a positive image of the Chicano/Latino students, community and family. Provide students with opportunities for education and intellectual growth through programs.

• Contribute in developing a diverse and mutually supportive environment for the greater University, faculty, and staff through open dialog.
